Job Purpose Creating original and innovative luxury soft toys, Jellycat combines luxurious fabrics with quirky and cute designs and sells its products online and via stockists throughout the US, UK, Europe and the rest of the world. The People Business Partner is responsible for aligning HR initiatives with business goals and support our growing teams. As an integral part of the business unit, you will play a key role in developing our talent and keeping our employees engaged and motivated. The ideal candidate will help to foster a high-performance, collaborative, and positive culture that reflects the unique spirit of the Jellycat brand. Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities 1. Strategic HR Partnership • Partner with leadership of assigned business units to understand strategic objectives and provide customized, proactive HR solutions. • Translate business needs into actionable HR plans, such as workforce planning and succession strategies. • Support HR strategies and programs launch in assigned business that drive business success and employee engagement. • Analyze HR metrics (e.g., turnover rates, engagement, productivity) to inform decision-making. 2. Talent Management & Development • Lead the entire talent lifecycle: recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and career development. • Identify skill gaps and create upskilling/reskilling programs. • Drive succession planning and leadership development initiatives 3.Employee Relations, Engagement & Culture • Serve as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries regarding HR policies, compensation, and operations. • Proactively manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, performance improvement plans, disciplinary actions and separation processes. • Conduct stay/exit interviews and implement retention strategies. • Spearhead the local implementation of employee engagement, wellness, and culture-building initiatives to champion and reinforce our company culture. 4. Performance & Organizational Effectiveness • Guide managers in setting goals, providing feedback, and developing performance improvement plans. • Support organizational design and change management initiatives. • Streamline HR processes to enhance efficiency and employee experience. 5. Compliance & Risk Management • Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies. • Proactively audit and train to mitigate risks and ensure adherence to regulations. • Other tasks asigned by direct manager. Knowledge, Experience, Skills, and Behaviors • Minimum 10 years of Generalist HR experience, HRBP experience would be preferred • Previous experience of working with HR systems, MS Office • Has a personable and efficient manner that reflects the ethos of the Jellycat brand • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently • Comfortable handling sensitive and/or confidential material strictly in accordance with company policy and legal requirements • Ability to influence and build relationships with employees at all levels, particularly managers and senior leadership. • Excellent knowledge of employment law and HR best practices • Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills. • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret HR data and generate insights. • Excellent organisational and project management skills. • High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism in handling confidential matters. • Track record of complex employee relations case management • A proactive problem solver with the ability to foresee problems and propose solutions • A genuine team player who is flexible, positive, and enjoys building professional relationships
